Intensified Research Rotation During your intern year you are able to elect into our Intensified Research Rotation for your PGY2 year. It is designed to give selected residents concentrated mentored exposure to either basic science, translational, or clinical research. Those who qualify have a schedule that reflects three consecutive months of protected research time. These residents work closely with their mentors to present at our Department of Medicine Research Day and so that the work can result in a publication in the scientific literature.
