Wellness/Self Care Time

The Internal Medicine Residency Program cares about residents’ physical and mental health. House staff are given six personal half-day “wellness days” over the course of the year. The purpose of this wellness time is to allow house staff to schedule self-care/health maintenance activities such as medical, dental, vision, and mental health visits, or any activity that contributes to residents’ physical and/or mental well-being. The time is given independently of residents’ allotted vacation and sick days each year.
