MSc in Clinical Research Methods (CRTP)

The Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Research Methods is attained through the Clinical Research Training Program (CRTP). This intensive two-year program is designed for those pursuing a career in investigator-initiated, hypothesis-driven clinical research. CRTP scholars are drawn from all of Einstein's medical specialties and subspecialties, including those interested in clinical investigation across the entire translational research spectrum, from mechanistic studies to population-based and health services research. The comprehensive program combines didactic learning and coursework with a mentored research experience.

The Harold and Muriel Block Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR), a partnership between the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Health System, has been continuously funded since 2008 by a Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) from the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS). The ICTR is one of ~60 institutions comprising the national CTSA Consortium. From its inception, the ICTR’s vision has been to improve the health of the population of the Bronx, among the most diverse areas in the nation, as well as other communities by accelerating the translation of biomedical advances into effective and sustainable disease prevention and therapeutic strategies. We provide robust research infrastructure, including critical research cores and services, to promote the efficient translation of scientific discoveries into improved patient outcomes. We offer high-quality and comprehensive training and career development programs for current and future clinical and translational research professionals. We also foster team-based collaborations and strong partnerships with the Bronx community, key stakeholders, and other CTSA hubs to overcome the barriers in turning discoveries in the laboratory, clinic, and community, into health benefits for all.
