NIH Child Care Credit
The NIH now provides childcare cost support to full-time predoctoral and postdoctoral trainees appointed on NRSA institutional research training awards that begin in Fiscal year 2022.Each full time NIH-NRSA-supported trainee is eligible to receive $2,500 per year for childcare costs provided by a licensed childcare provider. Childcare costs are permitted for dependent children living in the eligible trainee's home from birth to age 13, or children who are disabled and are under age 18. Childcare costs do not apply to elder or non-child dependent care costs.
