PREP at Einstein
The Albert Einstein College of Medicine has an NIH funded PREP R-25 (Post-baccalaureate Research
Education Program
R25 GM 104547) that first began in August 2013, and is an NIGMS program specifically designed to encourage
underrepresented minority students to pursue a research doctorate. PREP participants work in an Einstein
laboratory and
participate in specialized workshops on academic and professional skills development and education
enhancement
activities. This program is designed to strengthen the research skills and academic competitiveness of
participants for
pursuit of a graduate degree. Thus far, Einstein PREP Scholars have matriculated into highly competitive PhD
programs.
The PREP Scholars participate in all campus activities and enhance the welcoming environment at Einstein.
