Event Description

In this workshop, Dr. Anna Kaltsas will describe the epidemiology, diagnostic work up, differential diagnoses, and treatment considerations in the evaluation of the neutropenic patient with fever.

After this session, ID Fellows should be able to understand the broad categories as defined by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) of risk in neutropenic fever patients, consider how the differential diagnosis changes in terms of possible infections in these patients, and how prophylactic and treatment approaches vary and consider some common non-infectious sources for fever in the cancer patient population.
