iLab Solutions

The Proteomics Facility, supported by the Laboratory for Macromolecular Analysis and Proteomics (LMAP), provides Einstein researchers with a comprehensive mass spectrometry resource for analysis of proteins, peptides and other selected families of biomolecules. Expert staff scientists are available to help plan and execute a successful proteomics based analysis. They also assist in data analysis, including statistics and data visualization. Collaborations and shared applications to funding is warmly recommended to guarantee a more comprehensive assistance in experimental design, data analysis, result interpretation, data visualization and sharing.

Services

Protein-related studies:

  • Identification and quantification of purified proteins and/or complex proteomes (label-free, SILAC, isobaric tagging)
  • Determination of protein-protein interactions and protein-nucleic acid interactions
  • Computational determination of regulated protein pathways, complexes and other networks
  • Identification and quantification of protein post-translational modifications
  • Mapping of protein and proteome localization in the cell, in particular chromatin complexes
  • High throughput analysis (100s samples per day) of histone post-translational modifications
  • Determination of protein synthesis rate (turnover) as complementary quantitative dimension of protein abundance
  • Confirmation of synthetic and recombinant molecules
  • Preliminary data analysis, including time-series statistics and assistance in biomarker selection

Other biomolecules:

  • Spatial localization of molecules by imaging (in situ) mass spectrometry
  • Confirmation of synthetic and recombinant molecules
  • High-resolution analysis of metabolites, drugs, peptides and other small molecules
  • Targeted assays and pharmacokinetics

Service Requests

Please contact us in the early stages of experimental design to ensure the best data acquisition and analysis. Before bringing samples to the facility, please visit our iLab page which will provide you with pricing for all available services.

Training and Open Access Lab

The proteomics labs always welcomes students, postdocs, technician and all types of personnel. We provide training in sample preparation to accelerate the analysis of large-scale projects and to reduce the costs of service. We also occasionally provide classes and practical demonstrations on the operation of mass spectrometers. We highly encourage the members of the Einstein community to participate to the data analysis process, as communication with the investigators highly benefits the selection of proper statistics and data visualization.
