Graduation Awards 

Justin Wheat recipient of the 2022 Dr. James and Ruth Scheuer Award for Outstanding MD/PhD student who will continue in Internal Medicine. This award is presented to a MD-PHD student who demonstrates outstanding personal qualities and leadership in addition to outstanding scientific achievement and clinical acumen in Internal Medicine.

Elise Mike recipient of the 2021 Social Justice Award. The Social Justice Award is presented to a senior student who has demonstrated clinical excellence and excellence in scholarship, leadership and commitment to social and community service.

Erik Hasenroehrl recipient of the 2021 Dr. James and Ruth Scheuer Award for Outstanding MD/PhD student who will continue in Internal Medicine. This award is presented to a MD-PHD student who demonstrates outstanding personal qualities and leadership in addition to outstanding scientific achievement and clinical acumen in Internal Medicine.

Natalie Ramsey recipient of the 2021 Maurice Greenhill Memorial Award in Psychiatry. The Maurice Greenhill Award in Psychiatry is presented to a student for outstanding scholarship during their psychiatry clerkship. Dr. Maurice Greenhill was one of the founding fathers of the Department of Psychiatry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was known for his dedication to medical education.

Todd Rubin recipient of the 2021 American Academy of Neurology Student Prize for Excellence in Neurology. The American Academy of Neurology Student Prize for Excellence in Neurology is presented to a student who demonstrates outstanding personal qualities and leadership in addition to outstanding scientific achievement and clinical acumen in neurology or neuroscience.

Other Awards 

Eric Sosa was chosen as a 2022-24 Human Genetics Scholars awardee by the American Society for Human Genetics.

Joseph Sweeney received a 2021 Kidney STARS Award from the American Society for Nephrology.

Eric Sosa has been selected as a recipient of the 2021-2022 United Health Foundation/National Medical Fellowship Diverse Medical Scholars Program. The mission of this program is to meet the need for culturally competent physician-leaders to better serve the community and ultimately improve health.

Tram Nguyen received a 2021 Trainee Professional Development Award from the Society for Neuroscience.

Tram Nguyen received a 2021 Diversity Award to attend the 36th Annual National MD PhD Student Conference.

Elise Mike received the 2020 Dr. David Kearney McDonogh Scholarship in Ophthalmology/ENT from the National Medical Fellowships (NMF). This scholarship is awarded to URM medical students who are "committed to academic excellence, research, leadership, and service and have an interest in a career in Ophthalmology /Otolaryngology ENT specialties."
