PowerPoint Multimedia Slide Design: An Evidence-Based Approach to Increasing Efficacy and Student Satisfaction

Event Description

Good PowerPoint design has the potential to engage your learners more effectively and has been shown to improve educational outcomes. Instructional design is a body of knowledge that prescribes actions to optimize learning outcomes, therefore linking learning theory to educational practice. We will explore multimedia design principles and demonstrate how to easily incorporate them into your content.

By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:

1. Describe how current research in cognitive psychology informs PowerPoint and multimedia design.

2. Identify PowerPoint-specific best practices for designing and delivering effective presentations.

3. Create or edit slides to follow multimedia design principles, which research shows enhances audience learning and student satisfaction.
