Dr. Kohn

Vision and the Brain — The National Eye Institute has awarded a renewal grant of $1.6 million over four years to Dr. Adam Kohn for his continuing efforts to understand how adapting to visual stimuli alters processing in the brain’s visual cortex. Visual adaptation is known to strongly alter the activity of populations of nerve cells. This project aims to reveal how altered coordination among those cells affects visual perception. Dr. Kohn is associate professor of neuroscience and of ophthalmology and visual sciences.
