USA Today interviews Milan Kinkhabwala, M.D., about kidney failure in younger patients as part of a review of Moonface, the autobiography of multiple transplant recipient Angela Balcita. Dr. Kinkhabwala notes that many young adults with acute kidney disease opt for a transplant over regular dialysis, which can be a time-consuming and tiring process. Dr. Kinkhabwala is professor of surgery at Einstein and chief of the division of transplantation at Montefiore Medical Center.
