Dr. Sun is an Assistant Professor, the Jacobi Site Director of the OBGYN residency program, and associate director of the Global Women's Health Program. She completed her undergraduate and medical degrees at Washington University in St. Louis, and her OBGYN residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Dr. Sun is very active in the areas of medical education, surgical simulation, as well as global health. Her research interests include the implementation of low-cost, high efficacy health interventions in low-resource settings, and simulation techniques to improve surgical education. Her global health priorities include performing surgical missions in an ethical, sustainable and socially responsible manner, as well as urogenital fistula prevention and repair. Her clinical focuses include minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, urogynecology and pelvic surgery, family planning and contraceptive services, gynecologic services for the LBGTQ community, and chronic pelvic pain. Her administrative responsibilities include medical education, infection prevention, OR schedule planning, OR trials and equipment coordination, and external referrals facilitation.
