Dr. Rebecca Williams specializes in Family Medicine with concentrated practice in maternity care. She returned to UIC as residency faculty coordinating women’s health training. She completed a faculty development fellowship and a master's degree in health professions education. In 2004, she joined the Montefiore Einstein Department of Family and Social Medicine as residency faculty. She currently serves as the Director of Maternity Services for Family Medicine. After years as the sole attending family physician delivering babies at Montefiore hospitals, she now leads a team of family physicians providing care to a large group of underserved women.
Dr. Williams holds an academic appointment in the Department of Family and Social Medicine. She is a member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine and teaches residents, students and fellows. She supervises training of residents on labor and delivery and in the office. She directs the Fellowship in Family Centered Maternity Care.
Dr. Williams's research interests are medical education and women’s health, with a focus on normal birth.
