Philip D. Lief, MD
As the Department of Medicine welcomes Dr. Ro Conigliaro as the new Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Program on July 1, Dr. Philip Lief will step down from his role as Interim Program Director.
During his long and dedicated career at Montefiore Einstein, Dr. Lief has served as Firm Leader, Vice-Chair, Acting Chair, Practice Director, and Interim Program Director, among others. Moving forward, he will serve annually for five months as a teaching hospitalist and for one month on the renal consult service. In addition, he will lead and actively participate in the Department's teaching and training programs, providing morning and noon conferences and chief of service and hospitalist conferences. He will continue his participation in Montefiore and Einstein committees, and will serve actively in our housestaff recruitment and interviewing.
