Dr. Serena Roth has been appointed the new site leader for the Department of Medicine third-year clerkship on the Einstein campus (Weiler Hospital).

Montefiore Health System’s Weiler Hospital is Einstein’s third largest clerkship site, offering students a wealth of hands-on experience treating patients with multiple co-morbidities including diabetes, cardiovascular disease, kidney disease, HIV/AIDS, COPD, and cirrhosis. Students are encouraged to take full ownership of their patients and work closely with the full interdisciplinary team in managing care. The Weiler Campus site is routinely highly ranked by the students for its breadth of patient experience and excellence of faculty and housestaff teaching.

The clerkship emphasizes the importance of compassionate patient care with attention to communication skills, sociocultural and economic factors, as well as ethical issues in clinical decision making.
