Jason Adelman, MD Jason Adelman, MD, MS, Assistant Professor of Medicine (Hospital Medicine) at Einstein and Director of Patient Safety at Montefiore Medical Center, received the 2012 Physician of the Year by the New York State Society of Physician Assistants at the group’s annual gala in October.
Dr. Adelman has been Director of Patient Safety at Montefiore since 2003. He is board certified in internal medicine and received his NPSF-AHA Fellowship in Patient Safety Leadership. Under Dr. Adelman’s leadership, the Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) service has grown from a small two-unit service to one of the largest PA services in the country, with approximately 100 physician assistants responsible for over 300 inpatient beds. Dr. Adelman’s commitment and respect for the PA profession has helped him develop a service with an excellent reputation that attracts PAs from all over the country.
