Gaetano Santulli's Lab

Overview

My lab studies the functional role of intracellular calcium and non-coding RNAs in the pathophysiology of cardiovascular and metabolic disorders.

-Meet our Team!

-Read our Papers!

During my training at Columbia University Medical Center, I have elucidated the fundamental mechanisms underlying the key role of intracellular calcium release channels in heart failure and diabetes, both in patients and in murine models of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.

The lab is currently funded by the NIH [5 R01s, 2 as Principal Investigator (NHLBI and NIDDK), 3 as Co-Investigator (NHLBI and NIDDK), 1T32 (NHLBI)], by the Hirschl/Weill Trust (2021-2025), by the Diabetes Action Research Foundation, and by the AHA.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES:

-Graduate Students (PhD, MD, MD/PhD): Graduate students are strongly encouraged to schedule a meeting for the assignment of a thesis project.

-Postdoctoral Fellows and Visiting Scientists: Postdoctoral positions are available immediately. We welcome enquiries from prospective research fellows.
