NCI Director Norman Sharpless Discusses Aging and Cancer at Einstein

On September 12, 2018, Norman Sharpless, M.D., director of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), part of the National Institutes of Health, visited Einstein to meet with leaders of the NCI-designated Albert Einstein Cancer Center (AECC) and present a lecture to the Einstein community.

A standing-room-only crowd gathered to hear Sharpless’s presentation, “The Dynamic Interplay between Cancer and Aging,” in LeFrak Auditorium in the Price Center/Block Pavilion. Introduced by I. David Goldman, M.D., director of AECC, Dr. Sharpless’s hour-long talk focused on how cancer therapy accelerates aging, greatly impacting the ability to treat the disease.
