Special Session: Pathogenesis of Cerebral Malaria: Lessons Learned at the Bedside

Event Description:
Dr. Terrie Taylor is an internationally recognized physician and researcher with expertise in Tropical Medicine. Dr. Taylor's groundbreaking research on the pathogenesis of cerebral malaria in children has contributed significantly to our understanding of this disease. She devotes much of her time in Malawi, both at the bedside and conducting her studies. During this session she will bring her vast knowledge on this topic and help us understand both pathogenesis and approach to patients with severe malaria.

1. Discuss epidemiology and pathogenesis of cerebral malaria.

2. Discuss treatment approach to patients with cerebral malaria.
