Walk the Walk and Talk the Talk: The Art of Giving a Great Lecture
Date: Monday, August 15, 2022
Time: 12:00 PM To 1:15 PM
Location: Via Zoom
Event Description:
In the age of distractions and social media, engaging your audience is quite the challenging feat. However, there are basic skills that all great lecturers employ to capture the audience and bring home their message. Giving winning lectures, whether to a small class of students or a large gathering of your colleagues, is an art that takes practice. Overcoming the lecturer-listener barrier can be difficult, but with the right methodology, your lectures can successfully achieve this. During this workshop, Dr. Nosanchuk will provide you with the tools to hold successful lectures by engaging with your audience -- or how to "Walk the Walk and Talk the Talk."
At the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:
1) Discuss the "dos" and "don'ts" of presenting
2) Effectively strategize approaches to crafting a new talk
3) Describe methods to engage an audience
Target Audience:
All faculty
Speaker:
Joshua Nosanchuk, M.D.
