As Co-Director of the Rose F. Kennedy UCEDD, at Montefiore Children's Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC), I foster research and represent the UCEDD at local, state, and national meetings. I direct(ed) federal and state funded research and evaluation projects including: Regional Support Center for Children and Your with Special Health Care Needs (funded by NYS DOH); State Systemic Improvement Project (NYS DOH), and; Learn the Signs/Act Early Book Development (CDC).

 

Increasing Sleep Health Literacy in Head Start: A Social-Ecological Approach.

NICHD (R01HD082129)  2015-2020

This study will empower families to obtain healthy sleep via interpersonal, organizational, community, and policy-level strategies. A stepped wedge cluster RCT in Head Start will test effects upon child, parent, and classroom outcomes; a policy evaluation will assess knowledge translation strategies.

 

Regional Support Centers for the Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs (CYSHCN)

New York State Department of Health (DOH01-RTATC-2019). 2019-2021

This project will inform New York City and Long Island Health departments of the needs of CYSHCN. Data will be obtained via focus groups and interviews of English, Mandarin, and Spanish speaking families

 

State Systemic Improvement Project (SSIP): Quality Improvement Project

New York State Department of Health (C032612). 2017-2020

This project supporting learning collaboratives designed to increase family centeredness of Early Intervention (Years 1-2) and produced a series of short films and webinars for families and professionals.
