Professional Interests

Kristina R. Chacko, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY.  She joined the Einstein-Montefiore Liver Center in 2013 after completing a fellowship in Transplant Hepatology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY.  She received her bachelor of arts in philosophy at Boston College and attended medical school at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX.  She completed her internal medicine residency at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, and gastroenterology fellowship at New York University.  Her clinical and research interests include the diagnosis and management of alcoholic hepatitis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, autoimmune liver diseases, and liver transplantation.  As the program director of the ACGME-accredited transplant hepatology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center, she is directly involved in the development and execution of the hepatology curriculum for gastroenterology and hepatology fellows.
