Event Description
During this interactive session Dr. Oza will review relevant topics on learning that will provide educators with insights into how to have effective goal-setting conversations with clinical learners. Setting goals with the learner at the beginning of a rotation helps set the foundation for the critical feedback that will be given during and at the end of the rotation. The workshop will review important skills that faculty can adopt to help support learners and their self-directed learning towards goal achievement. During this session Dr. Oza will engage participants in group discussion as well as opportunities to practice skills in helping students to set learning goals.
By the end of this session, the attendees will be able to:
•Describe how to have effective goal-setting conversations with learners.
•Understand the importance of goal setting in clinical rotations.
•Discuss how to best support learners on their learning path towards goal achievement.
