Wednesday, April 3, 2024

1:00 PM To 2:00 PM Via Zoom

Event Description

Systematic reviews must adhere to a strict scientific design based on explicit, pre-specified and reproducible methods in order to provide reliable, unbiased evidence. This session will provide an overview of the systematic review process and the steps and methods required to conduct a systematic review.

After this session, participants will be able to:

*Understand the importance of systematic reviews in research and medicine.

*Describe the difference between narrative reviews, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses.

*Clearly define the clinical question to be addressed.

*Select search terms, identify relevant databases, and manage search results for a sample clinical question.

*Understand what is involved in screening and critically appraising studies and extracting and analyzing data; identify freely available and fee-based tools to assist with these steps of the process.

*Ensure that journal publisher requirements for systematic reviews are met.
