Empowering Your PowerPoint with Poll Everywhere™

Wednesday, July 20, 2022

9:00 AM To 10:30 AM East Campus Library, Training Room, Forchheimer 119N

Event Description

You've probably been told that PowerPoint is the "poison pill" of lecturing. Slide by slide, you slowly numb your audience with densely-packed information. Truth be told, it doesn't need to be that way. Poll Everywhere™, an "audience response system", can enliven your presentation and give you real-time feedback on your audience's engagement. Before the session, you'll sign up for a Poll Everywhere™ account. In the 1.5-hour live session, you'll learn the capabilities of Poll Everywhere™ to engage your learners and create Polls yourself. Space is limited. Don't wait to sign up!

By the end of this workshop, participants should be able to:

1. Describe pedagogical strategies of using Poll Everywhere™ to sustain learner attention and gauge learner engagement during a didactic session

2. List the types of questions, and their applications, available from Poll Everywhere™.

3. Demonstrate that they can create a Poll Everywhere™ poll
