Department of Molecular Pharmacology

Education

Together with the profound learning that occurs through laboratory research, the Molecular Pharmacology Department hosts a variety of educational experiences that supplement the learning of our students. A key departmental course is “Molecular Approaches to Drug Action and Design,” lead by Dr. Derek Huffman. In addition, Dr. Matthew Gamble is co-course leader of “Gene Expression: Beyond the Double Helix.”

The department also sponsors the Molecular Pharmacology Seminar Series, where national and international scientists are invited to discuss their cutting-edge discoveries in both a formal seminar format and through informal discussions with students, postdocs, and faculty. Finally, the department also hosts the Molecular Pharmacology Work-In-Progress seminar series where students and postdocs discuss the results of their most current research efforts.
