Inside One Nursing Home's Fight Against COVID-19
Shikta Gupta, MD, an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Geriatrics) is featured in a documentary about Kings Harbor Nursing home during COVID-19. The film is produced by the non-profit Define American, a national culture change organization that works to shift the conversation about immigrants. Dr. Helena Blumen awarded a $3.6 million NIH Grant
The National Institute on Aging has awarded Helena Blumen, PhD, a $3.6 million grant to examine trajectories and modifiable risk factors of brain, gait, and cognitive decline in aging and pre-dementia. Dr. Blumen is assistant professor in the departments of Medicine (geriatrics) and The Saul R. Korey Department of Neurology.

The National Institutes of Health has awarded Dr. Joe Verghese and Dr. Roee Holtzer a $3.3 million grant from to explore cognitive training programs among the elderly as a strategy to improve their flexibility and agility.

Center for the Aging Brain Selected for Population Health Management Program
The NYU Hartford Institute for Geriatric Nursing has selected the Montefiore Einstein Center for the Aging Brain, as well as five Montefiore Medical Group patient-centered medical homes, for implementation of an innovative population health management program to improve primary care services for older adults in the Bronx.
