Procedural Dermatology and Hidradenitis Suppurativa Dual Fellowship

Director: David Ciocon and Kristina Campton

Explore a distinctive dermatology research fellowship tailored for medical students taking a gap year in between their third and fourth year. This program, led by esteemed experts Dr. David Ciocon in procedural dermatology and Dr. Kristina Campton in hidradenitis suppurativa (HS), offers a comprehensive academic experience. Fellows contribute substantively to research articles in procedural dermatology and HS and have the opportunity to present their findings at various dermatologic conferences. Furthermore, research fellows actively engage in patient care, directly assisting in various dermatologic procedures such as mohs micrographic surgery, excisions, intralesional injections. Dermatopharmacology Fellowship

Director: Holly Kanavy, D.O.

A competitive two-year program that introduces fellows to the design and implementation of clinical trials in dermatology. The fellow will have the opportunity to collaborate on a wide variety of cutting-edge projects in dermatology, including studies of atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, alopecia areata, supportive oncodermatology, and hidradenitis suppurativa. Targeted towards graduated M.D. or D.O. recipients who have completed intern year.

Supportive Oncodermatology Fellowship

Director: Beth McLellan, M.D.

A one-year program open to medical students between their third and fourth years. Dr. McLellan studies a wide range of dermatologic conditions. Currently, she is working to develop an understanding of the pathogenesis of radiation dermatitis and the interplay of the immunologic response, Staphylococcus aureus, and the microbiome. fellows receive mentorship from Dr. McLellan and other faculty and engage in clinical work alongside the residents throughout the year.

Cosmetic Dermatology and Alopecia Fellowship

Director: Kseniya Kobets, M.D.

Immunodermatology Clinical Fellowship

Director: Benedict Wu, D.O., Ph.D.

A one-year program open to medical students between their third and fourth years. Dr. Wu's clinical interests are collagen-vascular disorders (vasculitides, cutaneous lupus, dermatomyositis, overlap syndromes), autoimmune blistering dermatoses, and inpatient dermatology. Dr. Wu's research focuses on pathogenesis (role of mast cells/Th2 cells in severe drug eruptions), diagnostic accuracy (imaging in calciphylaxis, lesion size in severe drug eruptions), prognostic factors (significance of complement, immunoglobulins in IgA vasculitis), and patient outcomes (immune parameters in IgA vasculitis and renal insufficiency). Future projects will include autoimmune blistering disorders and cutaneous lupus. The fellow receives mentorship from Dr. Wu and other faculty and actively participates in evaluating and managing complex medical dermatology patients with the residents.
