Areas of Focus Distributing information to immigrant patients and their communities to help keep them safe and healthy. We are working to distribute information to immigrant patients so that they are aware of resources available to address immigration-related risks and their rights (i.e. “Know Your Rights” fliers and trainings). Developing a formal institutional policy for responding to enforcement by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and communicating this policy to Montefiore’s immigrant patients. We are working with key stakeholders within our institution to develop a policy that is responsive to the immigrant community’s needs and complies with existing Montefiore policies. Increasing institutional capacity to provide immigrant patients referrals to immigration-specific resources. We are working with key departments within Montefiore/Einstein as well as community stakeholders to identify and address gaps in the referral process to community and social service organizations that can support immigrant patients (i.e. legal support)
