Assumpta Madu, MD '93
Assumpta Madu, MD, MBA, PharmD is Medical Director and owner of Bartow Ophthalmology Pllc, located in the Bronx. Dr. Madu is also affiliated with Morris Heights Health Center.
Dr. Assumpta Madu received her undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from State University of New York at Buffalo and attended medical school at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. She completed her medical internship and ophthalmology residency at Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Madu’s professional credentials and experience includes her tenure as Ophthalmology Residency program director at Bronx Lebanon, and while working at Montefiore Medical Center, Dr. Madu served as Administrative Director for Clinical Operations/ Ophthalmology Residency program director. During this period, Dr. Madu was selected to serve on the ophthalmology residency review committee of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Madu was Clinical Associate Professor and Vice Chair of Education at NYU Langone, Ophthalmology. She is a member of the Alumni Board of Governors of Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her areas of practice interest include surgical and medical management of glaucoma and provision of high-quality ophthalmic care to underserved communities.
